<p>The rooms are well maintained but the hotel provides limited number of Cottage rooms. The hotel consists of 10 rooms with Double Bed and Family cottage with 4 Beds. All the rooms have attached sanitized bathroom, Satellite TV. The hotel provides parking space, hot water and multi cuisine restaurant. Fairydale has a green and hygienic kitchen and serves the best Indian, Mughlai, Marwari and Chinese food. The hotel provides different packages for honeymooners, corporate get together and family holidays.</p>

Lansdowne is well connected by motorable roads but remote in its own way. Perched at an elevation of 1,700mts above sea level, Lansdowne is surrounded with thick oak and pine forests. Lansdowne is a Cantonment area and therefore there are limited hotels at this place. Located 40kms from Kotdwar, Lansdowne is situated in the <a href="http://www.gogarhwal.com/pauri-garhwal.html" target="_blank">Pauri district</a> of Uttarakhand state.</p>
<p>Unspoiled nature, bracing air and a magnificent view of the snow covered peaks inspire peace and tranquility. Lansdowne is an ideal location for eco-tourism. A salubrious, fresh and invigorating environment makes Lansdowne a preferred destination to relax and it is a truly rejuvenating experience. On Nov 5, 1887, the first battalion of Garhwal Rifles migrated from Almora to Lansdowne. Since the regiment was shifted from Almora, so Kumaoni culture was inherited with the soldiers of Garhwal Rifles in their life-style and food habits as well.</p>
<p>Like other hill stations of <a href="http://www.gogarhwal.com/" target="_blank">Garhwal</a>, the temperature is pleasant here in the summer months and offers visitors with ample opportunities to enjoy the gifts of nature. However, winter months can be severe cold with snowfall throughout and temperature can go below sub-zero levels in these months.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Places to Visit</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>Tarkeshwar Mahadev</strong>: This place is best known for the temple Tarkeshwar Mahadev dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is an ideal place for those who wish to seek solace in the lap of nature. It is surrounded by thick forests of deodar and pine. It is located 38kms from Lansdowne at an altitude of 1,800mts above sea level.</p>
<p><strong>The Garhwal Rifles Regimental War Memorial</strong>: The War memorial at Lansdowne was unveiled on a suitable vantage point on the Armistic Day 11 Nov 1923 by his Excellency Lord Rawlinson of Trent, the then Commander in Chief of India. Located at the Parade Ground is a major attraction which attracts tourists from all over the India and the world.</p>
<p><strong>Kanvashram</strong>: Situated 14kms from Lansdowne has a great legend to say. According to Hindu mythology, Sakuntala and the king of Hastinapur gave birth to a son called Bharat after whom the name of the country &#8216;Bharat Varsha&#8217; is given.</p>
<p><strong>Jwalpa Devi</strong>: Situated 47kms from Lansdowne, Jwalpa Devi Temple is an important religious place located on the Pauri-Kotdwar Road. The temple holds immense importance amongst regional people.</p>

<p><strong>St. Marry’s Church</strong>: Construction of St. Marry’s Church began in 1895 by Colonel AHB Hume of Royal Engineers and was completed in 1896. St Marry’s Church fell into disuse after 1947 and gradually began deteriorate. The building has now been restored by Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre with additional facilities of relevant pre independence photographs and audio visual display of Regimental history.</p>
<p><strong>St. John’s Church: </strong>On the Mall, the Roman Catholic Church (now St. John’s Church) situated just above the road on the spur below the Forest bungalow was completed in 1934. It reopened on Nov 29, 1980. From then, St. John’s Church became the only Church of worship in Lansdowne and continues till date.</p>
<p><strong>Bhulla Tal: </strong>Bhulla means “younger brother” in Garhwali and is dedicated to the young Garhwali youth of the Garhwal Rifles who contribute their services day and night in its construction without any Government funds. The boating facilities are also available and the areas around the lakes formed by the dams have been beautified. A children park, bamboo machan and fountains have been erected as part of entertainment and beatification of pristine surroundings.</p>
<p><strong>Tip-In-Top: </strong>Tip-in-Top is a popular vantage point amongst the tourists visiting Lansdowne. It is on the ridge close to St. Mary’s Church. One can plan a trek on the bright sunny day to feel the glorious view of the Himalayas which is unforgettably enchanting.</p>
<p><strong>Durga Devi Temple: D</strong>edicated to Goddess Durga, this temple is located 18kms from Kotdwar and is highly revered by the locals. The temple is situated on the bank of river Khoh. The temple itself is inside a cave.</p>

<p><strong>By Air</strong>: The nearest airport to Kotdwar is Jolly Grant situated about 149kms from Lansdowne. Taxis are available from Kotdwar to Lansdowne.</p>
<p><strong>By Rail</strong>: The nearest railhead to Lansdowne is situated 41kms away at Kotdwar. Taxis are easily available from Kotdwar to Lansdowne. You can take the taxi either on sharing basis or you can hire the complete cab.</p>
<p><strong>By Road</strong>: Lansdowne is well connected by motorable roads with important destinations of north India. Lansdowne is situated 255kms from Delhi, and 41kms from Kotdwar.</p>
